Sorry its blurry. Has a long neck like a crane. Tried to find in a book of Puget Sound birds.Heron possibly?
CLOSED: Can you ID
It reminds me of a pelican.
He sure would be far from home, but yes same look.😁
He was in Puget Sound?
"Brown pelicans now occur in substantial numbers (7,000–10,000) in Washington’s outer coastal waters, mainly from late April through October (Wahl 2005). Small numbers occur in the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound. "

He was in Tacoma which isn't too far from the sound. Do you know for sure that that's what it is?
Not a Blue Herron? Sorry I wasn't able to get a better pic. I had to hurry before it was gone.
I enlarged your photo and compared it to photos online of Blue Herons and pelicans in flight and now think you are correct it is a Blue Heron. You can see the feet hanging out the back straight but even more I can see the rounded hump under his neck area as I see in online photos of a heron in flight but not on a pelican in flight.

I hope this helps.
Thank you for that it flew by so quick I didn't get a chance to check out its coloring or anyting but I did see that we do have brown Pelicans but they're mostly on the coast near the ocean thank you for your help
