woke up this morning to a goof cover of the white stuff, big sigh there is shovelling to do before I start my day..

Pat, thinking of you this morning, here is hoping you were able to get a few good hours sleep and that you are able to schedule Ben’s service for Thursday

Waving Liz, hope you have a sunshine day...

Best I get out and shovel,
we had a good 6-8 inches last night.

Good morning. Thanks for the new room Betty.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Expecting big rain today, school cancelled, again.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Never heard of schools being cancelled because of rain or is it freezing rain Karen? Bet you’ve enjoyed the weather in warmer climate Karen? Don’t regret the the move.

We had snow last night, haven’t shovelled yet and probably won’t until I get back from the doctors..might be awhile with him as I’ve mega questions and wants .. certainly want to know how they got it so wrong re surgery..that is main on my list!!

Just sitting quietly, brought bags up from cleaning I did Saturday to put in my car for the dump, kept shoo’ing Ziggy away from door so he wouldn’t go out then have to stay out until I come back so he is on the coffee table in front of me, watching me like a hawk..

Guess I should start the car and let it warm up, need gas, the bank, the dump so just maybe I can get all but bank done before my appo8ntment.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

if the school canceled because of rain, it likely was because of fear of more flooding and unable to get the bus where they needed to go. We have schools & roads closed at various places across the state.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Pat, I am so sorry for your loss.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, there is mega flooding in Tennessee.
Good luck with your Dr today. I hope you give him an earful.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had flooding last week after several days of hard rain. We are basically in a valley with a river so a few days rain will flood. It was bad last week and they are thinking because it's still high it won't take much for it to get bad again. With the course of the river, it can actually block access to the middle and high school.River here is called the Little River, right now it's not so.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow Karen, seems that no matter where you live there are weather issues..kids love days off..don’t think as yet ours have had many snow days.

It’s beautiful out there, turning mild, great day for building a snowman, wish I could! Big sigh..

Had my visit with the doctor, he ordered a series of meds, not sure what but they will come to pharmacy some time tomorrow, he says he will give me a series of about 20 needles across the shoulder areas,neck and mid back and will do so every couple of weeks in hopes it shocks the neck muscle and it relaxes thus causing less pain.

As for fibromyalgia it’s bad, he also said somethings it attacks specific areas and maybe that is the cause of the shoulder pain..right now it’s all my body so hard to tell about the shoulder....really it’s a guessing game, one I’m not fond of playing but not a lot one can do.

Just cooked a self rising pizza for lunch, decided as I had extra pie crusts in the freezer I’d make a cream pie, now that I’ve cooked the crust have to check what filling I have lol

Also cooking meat pie because I like cold meat pie after it’s cooked and scalloped potatoes so should have to cook tomorrow..hate not having sweets in the house.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Did the Dr say why surgery was cancelled at the last minute?

Victoria Harbour, ON

How are you doing today Pat? Was just thinking how busy you are at work and if they have a replacement for you while you are off or if you will have double the work when you return? Sure hope you can be off for awhile.

The surgeon and specialist disagreed, surgeon didn’t want to do it as she knew it want the cause of the pain and believes it’s muscular..doc was upset about situation as well...said now he will have to question diagnosis for other patients he refers.

Just finished making cocoanut cream pie filling, now I have to wait 3-4 hrs for it to cool and thicken, not helping my need for sweets.M” have you had a better winter this year ie less snow?

Deb how are you feeling?

Nice out there

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Haven't had any 'measurable snow in a few days, just VERY cold temps, but lots of sun..
We stayed in Timmins on the way home from Bradford, drove through an awful area of squalls ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Greg was up in timings on the weekend..took their snow machines to Sudbury then rode to Timmons. We haven’t had a hard winter to date, now watch me get the storms..how was Lorna’s mom?? Bet Lorna hated to go home and leave her thinking it my be the last time she sees her..hard times for sure..and the furries, they all doing well? Let’s not forget that young one, any photo’s?

Running my bath, then time fir eats, more the dessert than the rest lol

We got a huge snowfall overnight. It looks like there will be another snowfall on Thurs. When the plow guy was here this morning he was saying we have already had more plows than we did all of last year.

I had an appointment in Kingston and was worried about the roads as freezing rain was in the forecast. Dave said the highways were in good shape so off I went. It has been so mild all day everything is melting.

Thinking of you Pat.

Betty I always used to chuckle when we did a show in Sudbury. One of the perks of the motels was a place to plug in your truck.

Stay safe and well.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I will have to ask Andrew if he has plowed more or less this year, he marks it down as well..I pay by the season so more than not I get my $$$ worth.

Same here, snow Thursday..

Greg just called, told me to stay up as he 2as bringing me Cbd, yes I am going to try it..funny, I was at the doctors today and he suggested I try it for pain..cbd without thc.
Greg was at doctors at 3:30 for his leg and he told doc he had gotten me some from an elder on the Indian reserve between Timmons and Sudbury..he and doc had a conversation about it and said worth the try..now I’m thinking I’m close to being a druggy, who would have thought it lol

Doctor crossed off the thc mixture as I said I’d not take it but did explain two types to take, one gives you more energy and the other more sedating, I’m thinking of trying the more calming as it might relax the muscles..goodness knows what Greg has or if I’ll try it

Lorna's Mum ..sheesh ..she has to be watched as she 'gets into'things .. covered herself in toothpaste, and, just lately mixed dish soap in with Aveeno cream and applied it to her arms and legs ..so, items are being removed from her apt.
Very confused at times and obsessed with her banking.

Lorna would be in trouble without CBD .. her stump pitches a fit at bedtime when her prosthetic leg is removed .. the CBD really helps, and, on nights when it is really bad, she has an oil with a small amount of THC in it.
Hope it works for you ..

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I've heard good things about the CBD, Betty, hoping it brings you relief. Seems even the Drs. are coming around about it now.
Still rainy here, no school again tomorrow.
I had to go out today, hated to with the rain but needed to see about a script. Last month my Trulicity co-pay was almost $200. I called Dr as I didn't have it and they gave me samples. Today I went in, said I needed refill but first had to know the cost to be sure I could get it. Today co-pay was $38.00 Go figure.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy that does not sound good, other than getting into things is she active?

Greg and Melanie just dropped in, he bought a trial bottle to see if it works, as he was at the doctors just after me they had a good talk, Greg told him what he had bought for me and he said it was ok for me to try so try I will however it says it’s 3 cbd to 1 thc. Took the 2 drops, a, sure it takes time to work.

No sooner were they here that Mel got a text from her aunt Rita in the city, her son who is between Noah and Kyle’s age was badly beaten 8n the subway station, brain injury, having seizures...Noah who now lives in the city is heading to St.Michaels Hospital to be with her as she has no other family in the city other than Noah and is a single parent so 8m sure she will appreciate his going..thInk Melanie is going as well as Rita was there when Noah was stabbed so prayers would help

Victoria Harbour, ON

Mel just left for hospital, doesn’t sound good

Susan, hope you are missing because you are extra busy and not because you are sick...

Oh no Betty, that's awful, hoping he recovers.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry to hear about Rita's son being beaten. Sending prayers.
Betty, the thc only has 3% thc, not much at all. please give it a try, it will help. I just picked up a bottle for my joints, I was told it could take maybe 3 days to kick in.
"m", sorry to hear about Lornas Mom. So sad what we do as we age.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I use the CBD and I do have one salve with THC as well. CBD will not test positive and has no hallucinogenic proprieties. HOWEVER most agree that with the THC is more effective. My clients made a believer out of me. they told me how effective it was in salve form directly in the painful area and the amount of opiates they were able to eliminate. None of these people were "users", they weren't looking for high, just pain relief. On really bad nights I put the one that has THC on my hand.

Marie & I went to the funeral home and picked out casket, headstone and decided to NOT use their "book" or order flowers etc there. Still lots to do but at least I have my church family to handle the building /funeral services and meal afterwards. That is just a HUGE help. It is awful how expensive everything is and I already purchased the cemetery plot years ago.

I'm doing Ok, and I believe I will be ok. Doesn't mean I won't cry occasionally. Ben was in so much pain, and the stress of worrying and caring for him was killing me. Ben's daughters have been awesome. I am so grateful that his brother & wife and oldest daughter had just visited him the weekend before. The funeral will be Saturday.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

You are in our thoughts Pat. Much hugs to you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I agree how expensive funerals are. Todd and I will both be cremated. I can't see putting our money in the hands of the funeral homes. Cremation here cost about $1500.00. A funeral will cost $20,000.00 or more.
Glad you have help making all the plans.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We have signed with a donation service that will just take us away and return our ashes to our family. We got screwed over by our life insurance Co. It all went away.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Pat, warms to know the church group is taking over many of your worries. Am sure you are filling your days with what needs done,who to call etc.. it wont be till after the funeral and everyone gone that it will hit you. I think of how difficult it would have been had you had to find a home for Ben seeing it was getting so difficult for you to work and care for him, Ben would not have wanted that..

I bought my plot and monument when Roger died, only think that remains is having my death carved in stone..I’ll leave it to the boys wether they cremate me or note..

Found some scratch board, I’ve 2 pieces I started, guess I could sit quietly and finish them..talking to Sharon about taking a day trip to buffalo, can stay overnight as she needs someone to give Inuk his needles so we will see

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Where is everyone today. Hope you are not snowed in.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

trying to finalize funeral details, what a nightmare. Thank goodness for friends,. a friend is going to convert a photo of Ben into a line drawing for the memorial pamphlet.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

No snow but a heavy rainstorm and high winds. I'm keeping a couple flashlights and a battery reading light handy...just in case.

Hugs Pat, at some point this is all going to hit you hard. Don't try to be a trooper, we are all here for you. I know everyone has to handle grief in their own way. When his brother passed, my hubby spent the day outside washing everyones cars.

Hello....

I just found you all!

Pat, I am so very sorry to hear of Ben's passing. And yes, the funeral arrangements are a nightmare. It is wonderful you have friends and family helping you. As others said....take care of yourself.

Betty, please take the CBD. I have been for two years. If I didn't don't think I would be walking much. There is a drop here that is citrus/tangerine flavor and that taste best to me. OR....DS gets me the "gummy bears" and I take 3 at bedtime. It really has helped and there is NO Thc in them at all.

Well, I have not had any "eyes in" for a month pretty much. Broke a contact, ordered a new one at 150.00 a pop.....and after two weeks that popped out and found it crushed on the floor. I was wearing old ones and couldn't see much at all, never mind trying to read anything.

I have been in the bottom of the barrel trying to function and keep my head up.

We have snow here....can you believe they said it was coming straight from Georgian Bay!!! YEP direct from Betty! AND Tonight thru Saturday temps to be -0- for a high. Goodness! Sam will demand his coat going out.

Hugs to all,
Debbie

Verona, ON

Good to see you Debbie.Hugs from me and the TH.

Well Betty's snow, wind and cold temps found me. We have an extreme cold warning. Something below -30 overnight. I know it's cold as Diesel holds up his paw after he has been out in his yard for about a minute.We attempted a walk but Diesel was holding up a rear paw before we got too far. I noticed Chaos wasn't arguing about coming back in.

I think I will have to try my new snowshoes without the company of the TH. At least until I get my bearings. I have to put them on in the TH's yard with them in the house. They are very nosy.

Karen I am not surprised your DH was out washing cars. I learned from my sweet dad that polishing the shoes of the immediate family was a good way to show your grief. I still carry on that tradition.

Pat please take care of yourself. I was in a completely different scenario when Warren passed. We had no family and Warren wanted no service or fuss at all. He was cremated and now sits on a dresser in a closet where I can see every day. Warren chose not to share his journey with others so just 1 person and my friends here on DH knew.

Betty I agree with Debbie. Give the CBD a chance. Debbie introduced me to a guy who puts CBD in his honey. His cinnamon honey is amazing. I put it in my tea. I must get an order off to him.

~~~~ to everyone.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Pat, thinking of you today..arm wraps coming from us all.
Debbie,sorry to hear you’ve been struggling, you know and if you don’t should know just how much we care for you..let that be a ray of sunshine in your life!! As far as I know, weather and health permitting we gals are coming to Lewiston Saturday for the day, would love to take you out for breakfast and give you a big long lasting hug on behalf of us all.
Not a wonder Dianne that the TH do not care to be out for their walk, feel the cold right through the walls, brrr it’s a cold one.anxious to hear how the new snowshoes work..Lordy I’d be in a lot of trouble using those.
The highlight of the year when I was growing up and early years of marriage was the Penetang Winterama, this weekend will be its 72nd...thought of you when they were saying there will be a snowshoe race which at one time beat out hockey..they also through a mile or so of trails made a trail rink, great place to skate day/night events, parade, ice fishing, today I shutter at the thought of spending the day outside. Memories of family and friends gathering at local pub for drinks,pea soup and sharing a lot of lies, oh they were the days.
Bought a tub surround for the washroom, when Sharons son Brian is ready to install I’ll pick up the tub..have a few projects for him so let’s hope he will quickly feel the urge to come and get them done.
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
Happy Valentine's day everyone.
We don't do much for each other. Todd will probably grill a nice rib eye steak for dinner.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Happy Valentines Day to all A’s well...no sweetie to get me a pressie and make me feel special but on behalf of myself will treat myself to something special while I’m in buffalo tomorrow..
It -23F tonight, screen door frosted, can hardly open it..I did self start on my car, joining girls for breakfast, figure I’ll do it 2-3 times and she’ll be nice and warm when I get in.
Patmy thoughts and prayers are with you..am sure as the service gets closer the harder it will be for you..
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)
It is 38 here this morning. Supposed to reach 68 today.
northeast, IL(Zone 5a)
Wow! That's really cold for you, isn't it? It was -2 this morning when I left for work. Up to 0 now.
Victoria Harbour, ON
Wow, 68 to me today is mega hot lol
Frost still on door
Going between all the girls, now some want to go early evening, Sharon can’t go til 6:30 because Inuk needs his needle...think I’d best check to see if there are rooms before we commit lol
Crazy ladies
