I am in zone 9 and using only drought tolerant plants. I have a large container (W 38" x D 10" x H 30") in which I want to put a plant which will provide a screen for my trash cans. What would be perfect is a snake plant, but I have been told that is doesn't do well outside in my area. Is there another plant which is upright and will grow to 18 inches to 3 feet? The placement is in afternoon sun.
