Saw this pretty bird at my bird bath. I did try posting this yesterday but did not work. So, try again. This bird is the same size as a rock dove but with that pretty pink breast is really different. I only saw it from the front but wings look gray, No idea of back or tail markings. It was not in my Eastern Bird Book. Any ideas?
CLOSED: Id on pink breasted pigeon, NC
Difficult without an image, but check this out. It might be a Bleeding Heart Pigeon.

Thanks! Link not working now but I will try asking a bird forum and using your good advice re Bleeding Heart Pigeon. Might work!
Let's know if it turns out to be a Bleeding Heart.
have found no other info on this pretty bird anywhere! I have a message in to a professor at NC State U so maybe she will come up with an ID. Thanks all!
NOT a bleeding heart pigeon at all! This bird I saw again t his morning has a full rosy pink breast. Not a spot or patch. Thanks though! I will keep looking! I suspect maybe it is a spring migration going on and this one got blown off track?
