CLOSED: unidentified bird

Fukuoka, Japan

I saw and photographed this bird, but camera settings were wrong, so photos were overexposed and out of focus. Photographed November 1st in Dazaifu Japan. It was foraging in a small stream and flew up to a tree where I photographed it. It's tail was often wagging up and down about once a second. After looking in my guidebook, I thought it could be a tree pipit. Thank you for any help you can give me. kawasemitom

Sorry for the long delay in replying!

It is an Olive-backed Pipit ビンズイ Anthus hodgsoni (closely related to Tree Pipit, but greener above, and more heavily streaked below).

Likewise, my reply is late. A new bird for me. Makes a lot of good sense, especially as Tree Pipit has only been sighted very rarely in Japan. I should know better. Thank you Resin!
