Here's a link to instructions, (from Lynette Jennings's show), for a floorcloth painted on the back of a linoleum remnant.

I don't care for the colors or the "contemporary" style of this one but you can paint them however you like. I did one using a Sunflower stencil on a cheap remnant from Home Depot for about $5.
