As much as I love picking up new varieties of dahlias and watching them reliably fling themselves into flowering for weeds on end during the summer, I also like a bit of mystery. The suspense of waiting to see what a dahlia grown from seed will produce is the most fun I have in the garden.
However, I'm not always that successful at catching ripe seed before it gets pelted with rain for a week and ruined in the field. I've used up my seeds for this year and I'm at loose ends. Anyone have any extra they'd be willing to pass along? I'll be posting pictures of all of my current batch of seventeen (about 30% germination, then I lost a couple to wet weather after potting them up). Those will go into my garden journal here, and I'd be happy to share the results of donated seed with the donor.
Anyone have leftover dahlia seeds?
