General Nathan Bedford Forest Native azalea

Brevard, NC(Zone 7a)

I gave into impulse and purchased the azalea at my local grocery store in Brevard NC. There was no growing info with the plant except to grow in part sun/shade. Has any one grown this azalea in 28712 zip code western NC? What is the temperature range for this variety? Will I need to protect it over winter?
Thank you for your help.

Are you referring to the confederate series of native azaleas?( of which there are many) In any event, a picture is worth 1000 words

Brevard, NC(Zone 7a)

Yes It is in the confederate series of native azaleas. I don't have a picture of the bloom as there was only one left. The bloom was a double orange. I was able to find out that "General Forrest" was developed by Dodd Natives in Semmes AL. I Emailed Dodds but received no answer from them. Thank you for any advice/information you can give me.
