Hi everyone, i am new here and looking for some advice. I rent a large old farm house on top of a hill, that is very exposed to the wind. I do have a few trees on the SE side of the house but that dose not help. I am looking to plant a hedge on the South,southwest,and east side of the house. Would that help? The hedge would be around 5ft or 6ft. Thanks.

I like cotoneasters or lilacs. They grow relatively fast. The birds like the berries on the cotoneasters and the lilacs smell wonderful in the spring. Do you have these in the UK?
