Hi, will you take photos or use binoculars to watch them outdoor?

Mesquite, TX

There is a nifty bird ID app for your smart phone called "Merlin" that I believe is from the Cornell Labs (an excellent organization). I have it on my phone and it's amazingly accurate simply by opening the app, answering a few pre-populated questions and then perusing the final tally of "Is this your bird? options.
Check the app store for the download.
If you decide to get this FREE app, make sure you originally set it up for your area and then peruse the additional (free) 'bird paks' that are offered for different areas of the US, Central America, and the very northernmost portions of S. America.
There are additional apps from Audubon and a couple other sources but I've found the Merlin app to be the easiest and quickest to use, particularly out in the field.
Hope this helps in your quest to expand your birding knowledge.
Steve
