New to gardening - need help w/ Trachelospermum j.

Los Angeles, CA

HELP PLEASE!

I just joined this site. Recently moved to a house with a yard; we planted Trachelospermum jasminoides, several from 5 gallon trellis, others from 5 gallon w/ stakes. After planting them, I put mulch on top (2-N-1 planting mix & mulch). The leaves are starting to turn brown & yellow. Sometimes the brown ones start turning brown in the middle of the leaf, then radiate out to the entire leaf. At first I was watering them with a hose & spray nozzle; now we have a drip system.

The plant gets lots of late morning & afternoon sun, zone 10B.

Appreciate any advice/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

I have never grown this plant so I know little. Did you recently plant it? Often plants shed leaves when stressed or in shock from a sudden change in their environment.

The leaves look burnt to me. Were the plants recently in more shade then moved to full sun? How long ago did you spray them to water? Sometimes leaves burn when wet and in a hot sun.

Maybe these articles will help you.

Often problems with watering can result in leaf drop. Too much water can be worse than too little. People often kill plants with kindness.

Good luck!
