Hi, I'm in northern Wisconsin at the apostle islands on Lake Superior & saw these guys on a telephone wire in a neighborhood. There were 3 total but I only got 2 on video. Not sure if these are juveniles or why they are hanging out in group like this. Have never seen raptors hangout together except maybe Harris hawks in Arizona.
When I first drove up I thought they were doves or a robin due to size. Didn't have my binoculars so hard to pinpoint details but they appeared to have a vertical band across the eye & Maybe one horizontally also. Looks like a light/ pale beak & maybe white chin. Merlin or Kestril are my best guess.
I have video of them calling back and forth to each other but can't load it on here 😭
CLOSED: Merlins?
Yep, Merlins; probably a family group.
