Roma plant is big & leafy, shouldn\'t I have some ripe ones by now?

My Roma plant is big with lots of leaves. Shouldn't it have some ripening by now. How can I get the plant to slow down and ripen fruit?

it sounds like you may have overdone it on the fertilizer, given too much, and the overdose of nitrogen will force them into growing tons of foliage at the expense of flowering / fruiting. One way to pull out some of the excess is to layer on a wood mulch made from softwoods, the microbes will start borrowing some of that extra nitrogen in order to start breaking down the mulch. A slow process, but a sure one. Maybe after tomato growing season is done you could plant a food crop there that isnt grown for the fruit or flowers--like kale or cabbage, they would love that abundance of nitrogen, too.

Growing lots of nice tomatoes, good size too. All other tomato plants are slow to put on fruit.
