I have a very old husker red with something I've never seen before. Can anyone diagnose the problem? There's red dots on some leaves that makes me think bugs.
Husker Red Penstemon
Oh sadness.....
Could it be any of these problems:

Good luck!
Maybe a deficiency like magnesium, zinc or iron? Try getting your soil tested at your local extension center. Not bugs.
It's definitely some sort of deficiency. From what I have read, it's usually too much phosphorus instead of not enough of something. I would not try to figure this out myself by just adding this or that to the soil. I would recommend getting a soil test. It would be the only way to figure out what is going on. You might want to put the plant in a flower pot with "potting" soil (not top soil) until you find out what the problem is if the plant looks like it's going to die. Have you been fertilizing this area?
Let us know what you find out.
