Help with container mix please?

I've searched and searched. I guess I'm a very poor investigator.
I'm getting ready to make some Al's 5:1:1. How is a gallon determined? Standard 1 gallon nursery pot? That's what I'm going to use anyway. 5 pine, 1 sphagnum and 2 perlite. So that's 8 nursery pot gallons.
The other question I can't find a definitive answer for is: how much lime to add.
I bet you all have been over this a thousand times. Once more, please?

Hi quercusnut, I do not use lime in my containers I just us potting mix and compost . I use lime on some plants in the gardn bed. Are you doing Vegetables or flowers because I have different methods according to what I am planting.
