I have 4 bato buckets up now. 3 tomatoes and 1 eggplant More to come! I like hydroponic gardening because the plants grow so fast. I will post new pictures as the plants grow.
Bato Bucket
GO for it. Did it in 1963 for a science fair. Used 3pound maxwell house coffee cans, vermiculite, and HYPONEX (water soluble chemical fertilizer). Started seed in the mix and transplanted to the can. Kept watered with a longneck soda bottle upside down, spout about inch above bottom. Plants were about 3 ft high at the Fair. Took 1st prize in Botany division. Took home and staked and grew tomatoes--kinda flat taste and tough skin. But I proved it could be done. Didn't pursue it - was fun. Worldbook was my source, all 4 paragraphs.
