Storing tulip bulbs over the summer

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

My daughter was given a bunch of tulip bulbs with their tops cut off already. She is wondering how to store them till next fall. Any help?

Thanks in advance.

Remove the soil from them and put them on a flat surface to dry out. Let any foliage go completely yellow - it feeds the bulbs. Some tulips come back better than others. I store most of mine.

Once they are completely dried out she can put them in a place where they will not freeze. I actually put mine in the back of the garage under an old quilt from a thrift shop.

Thank you. Will do.

Check the water level in the container everyday and, for the longest jar life, change the water in the jar day to day. At any rate, top off the water as the level brings down. Never let your tulips sit without water covering the bottoms of their stems. Keep your tulips in a cool room
