It's only January, but we have some funky weather here in Michigan. It's rainy and cold, but hey no snow! And no snow means bare ground peaking through. All brown and gray. Drab. Depressing. I can't wait till it warms up and the trees start popping. The grass starts to green up. And color starts to burst from lawns, porches, gardens.
So here I am wondering what I can do to make the best of my color burst this summer? My daylilies are fast asleep now, but what's the best way to care for them when they start waking up and poking through?
I do need to split a few clumps this year, is spring time best to do that, or should I wait till after they bloom?
What are some of the little things you do for your daylilies in the spring that make a difference for you?

Yes, spring is the time to divide your daylilies. It's best to do this when they first come up. Don't wait until the are leafy.
I sometimes give my daylilies some horse manure that's been ripened.
