Does anyone know of a source for an intermittent timer, that would let me run a fan in my little greenhouse for an hour or two on, and an hour or two off through out the day.

If your fan is plugged into an outlet, you could find a timer at a drugstore, hardware store, or any of the big box stores that would be appropriate.
will most timers turn on and off several times a day? Or one time am and one time pm? It's been quite a few years since I have used one, it would only cycle once every 24 hours,

depending upon what you purchase I would say yes. Most of the cheaper mechanical type timers have a number of 'pins' that you can pull to trigger multiple on and off periods there may be a digital one out there that would enable you to program for multiple times as well. All said, a trip to home depot or alternative may be in order
