some natives in autumn in southeast PA

Downingtown, PA

Some recent shots I've taken in southeast Pennsylvania of native plants in fall color: a young Pagoda Dogwood in red color, a Dwarf Witch-Alder (Fothergilla) shrub in mostly orange, a Scarlet Oak tree young planted at a nearby park, a maturing Black Tupelo tree in mostly orange, and a Tall Black Chokeberry shrub in orange on a cloudy day.

Very nice! I hope my gardens are half as colorful next year! I've planted over 400 native plants after joining Wild Ones this Spring. I've meant to send you a DMail about that, but I've been too busy learning the ropes as the new Membership Coordinator for the Illinois RRVC chapter.
Check out my Journal and let me know what you think. I've almost completely replaced non-native plants with natives in several garden areas and more projects planned for next year.
I've also been working with some other Wild Ones volunteers on a native plantings project at Midway Village. Several things still blooming there this late in the season!

Nice Ratibida, Rattlesnake Master, and Shiny Coneflower! I hope your coordinator role goes well in what must be the Rockford area. I'm originally from the west suburbs of Chicago. I'll look for your journal.
