Snake IS

Anyone know the name of this snake? Thanks.

It is what we call a Gopher or Bull snake around here (two names, same snake)
Try Pituophis melanoleucus or Pituophis catenifer.
They are good guys, eating garden pests - as they grow, so does the size of the pests they eat. They start with insects, especially grasshoppers, and work their way up to rodents. And I always consider them my first line of defense against rattlesnakes - they are better hunters for the same food.
