A customer came into the garden center today and said that his old landscaper told him about a cloth that could be laid over your lawn. It would touching the weeds, but not the grass since the weeds are taller than the grass. You would spray a herbicide on the cloth and since the cloth was touching the weeds and not the grass, it would kill the weeds, but not the grass.
I think he either didn't understand what his landscaper was saying or the landscaper didn't know what they were talking about.
Either way, I don't see how that could work, but didn't want to rule out the possibility until I had done some research.
