I like so much all types of alliums but azureum's (caeruleum) blue is a nice change from all the purply ones. With the smaller head I think one needs to plant lots in a group to get the full effect of this blue. And added bonus is that it comes into bloom later than the purples.
(Are there other 'true blue' alliums besides this one?)

Ah, yes, very nice! It's a lovely color of blue. I don't have that one. It reminds me of Lily of the Nile only easier to grow and adaptable to more growing zones.
My brother has the Drumstick Allium [I'm not spelling the scientific name on this one! :) ]. It looks cheerful and adds to the total look of a spot in the garden. I 'think' it spreads rather easily. Do you know if it spreads?
Sorry 'birder' I do not know if it naturalizes as do other alliums. (But to be honest I dont yet see much spreading of the others I have...so far).
