rain runoff from a roof is what most people think of. Collecting water from a large parking area or a street gutter is another thing entirely. I do not bother with my roof and gutters. The first good rain in the Fall fills the gutters of the steep street in front of my home. Diverted by a heavy hose to a pump that fills my 2,000 gallons of barrels and cubitainers. If I could catch all the runoff in a normal year it could fill my entire house.
