Thought it was an oak??

Summerville, SC

Hi,

I am hopping one of you can help me identify a few trees I have on a new property. I want to care for them correctly, especially one that I think my need some serious TLC, but after hours of online searching none of the results seem to be helping. I have three trees I am trying to ID, I will create separate threads for each tree. Thank you for your help and time! I live in South Carolina about 30 miles from the coast and these pictures were taken today 2/27.

I thought this tree was an oak tree, but looking at pictures of oak leaves, none seem to fit. There are two trees (but they may have the same root system) it is about 50 feet tall and the leaves are dark green and powdery brownish on the bottom, they seem to grow in clusters at the end of the stalk and the leaves are about 6-8" long, very smooth on the edges. This tree drops acorns that are in the photo. Do you know what kind of tree this is?

Thank you, Angela
