Albuca spiralis

Scott Bar, CA(Zone 6a)

This plant seems to have missed the memo about curly leaves. No matter how hard I grow it, how much sun and how much water it never has curled other than a hint of distortion at the end of the leaves. It blooms prolifically with very sprawly inflorescences. The caudex is about 3 inches in diameter after 5 years growth. At this point there are 11 flower stalks.

I would appreciate any advice on how to get a better conformation i.e. tightly curled leaves as appear in most photos of this plant. Thanks,

Bill

It is behaving more like Albuca circinata. Is that a possibility?

Thanks for the tip. I purchased this plant from Shoal Creek several years ago as spiralis and never looked beyond that. I note that it is also called Albuca namaquensis of which there is a variety called spiralis.

I bet it is not the Albuca spiralis. Mine has leaves that want to curl.
Unfortunately, I am killing it and don't know why.
