These guys showed up in our yard yesterday...thinking from up North maybe. I am in Eastern Ontario Canada. When they fly their wings are white underneath and mostly white on top with a black/brown tip. They have a blush coloured band around their neck and on their sides. These birds move as one....totally synchronized in a flock of about 25 +.
CLOSED: New bird in the yard!
Snow Bunting
How wonderful! I would so much enjoy having Snow Buntings for a yard bird. At best we may see them along the roads when the fields are covered. They tend to hang out with the Horned Larks, another yard bird hopeful.
I have always only ever seen them flying over the fields as I drive by wondering what they were. Was tickled pink to have a flock land in the yard...2 days in a row now, hoping they stay :)
