CLOSED: Hummingbird

Aurora, CO(Zone 4a)

While in the Morro back bay, after photographing a heron, I heard wings buzzing nearby, turned, and saw a hummingbird. Good grief, this place is magical. I would have gotten more, and better photos had I been mentally prepared. Kind of like a marathon. Not a super clear photo, but would appreciate any ID opinions.

I think this might be a Black-chinned Hummingbird, but wait for someone to confirm this. The only one we get is the Ruby-throated.

Sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I would enjoy seeing all those birds!

I'd go for Anna's Hummingbird, with the angled shape of the gorget and the extent of white around the eye.

Thank you both. I'll go with Anna's Hummingbird if only because gorget is such a cool word.
Never too old to quit learning...
