Can anyone tell me how and when to prune a peegee hydrangea?
peegee hydrangea pruning
Hi, Lacemosaic! Hydrangea paniculata Grandiflora ("Peegee Hydrangea") flowers on new growth. Pruning should be done in late winter or early spring, prior to flowering.
The pruning consists of cutting off dead flower heads back to the first leaf node that has buds and dead, weak, or crowded stems back to the base.
(This information came from Botany.com, and was consistent with other information I retrieved through a web search.)
Happy Gardening!
Well, these are drooping on the ground. Wondering if I need to cut off all that is touching ground.
