Fish Stories

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

I was away from home for a bit over two weeks. DH didn't check on my pond while I was away. I decided to winterize it Sunday and I found my 2 favorite fancy tails floating.
:( Don't know why but was very disappointed.

On the bright side I found several teeny tiny babies in the smaller pond, in fact if I hadn't been netting out leaves and debris and accidently netted a few I never would have seen them. I can't believe that they have hatched out so late. We have a few babies that hatched this summer and are a pretty good size now. Anyone ever have babies so late? And do you think they will survive the winter? I sure hope so!

I have had fish (goldfish ) that have had babies late the past two years now and all have survived fine through the winter.
( Sorry to hear about your two 'fantail fish' )
