This is a good time to talk about these Holiday beauties.
The Holiday Cactus (or Thanksgiving cactus) will soon be blooming away
in all the stores and in our homes.
Soon followed by the real Christmas Cactus. YES! There is a difference!
The Easter Cactus will bloom some time in May or June. Not always for Easter..
Some years ago--we had long discussions going on here and we all learned a lot
from JB (Jacquie Berger). MAN! Did she know everything about these beauties!!
For those of you who have the time--here are links to the previous six Threads
where these beauties were discussed and dissected to no end.
You will learn a lot, though.

Thanks for the new thread Gita. Beautiful blooms of all three types!
Here is a link to a post with all of the info and references we collected on our first six threads:

I also posted at the end of our part 6 thread that we had moved over here.
Thanks, Gita!
In my head, I just think that there are 2 kinds of Christmas Cactus, because I grew up calling the one in your first photo CC and never saw the one in your second photo until a few years ago. So if I post a photo of my "Christmas Cactus," please don't jump on me to point out it's "really" a Holiday Cactus! :-)
The rainbow of colors these come in now is really remarkable. I had a set of starters from Doc Gipe... gave them away several years ago, but they were such fun!
