Bird in tree eating caterpillars. ID please?
CLOSED: CLOSED: OK bird ID
Yellow-billed Cuckoo. That is one I've only seen brief glimpses of and am still hoping to get an identifiable photo. How wonderful for you!! :D
Thanks for the ID. Several were in a tree at Ray Harral Nature Park, Broken Arrow, OK. They were busy eating caterpillars but I could not get closer due to overgrown vegetation.
They eat all the poisonous hairy caterpillars that nothing else will touch. Apparently they've got a special stomach lining that can deal with the hairs and toxins.
Resin
Thanks Resin. I appreciate the information. A part of natures self control.
