Hi, I saw another chickadee in Pittsburgh this morning. I think Pittsburgh has both Black-capped and Carolina ones. Any ideas on this one?
Thanks,
Cui
Chickadee ID please
When I saw my first Chickadee, I mentioned to my friend I assumed it was Black-capped and not Carolina. She wrote back saying the white edging on the wings in my photo rules out Carolina, besides location. I see enough white on your photos to say it would be Black-capped.
I always think it is so cute how they hold their food like this. :)
Aye, right on the boundary. You also have hybrids to contend with, so it's not at all easy!
