I grew hosta from seed and this is as much as they have grown. I started in early spring. I am torn on whether or not to put them in the ground since they are tiny. Will they get messed up if I keep them inside over the winter? Do they need to "shut down"? I'm just afraid they won't come back or something if I plant them outside. I do have a grow light. Thanks all!
in North Central Massachusetts - where last winter was BRUTAL. LOL.
What to do with hosta grown from seed
I would keep them in a pot until they got larger. If a slug got to them they are goners.
I keep them in the pot, but I do generally sink the pot into the garden for the winter. Once they are a bit bigger than that they can be placed into nursery bed. But that will be next year.
