We are getting a boatload of ( needed ) rain -- are you?
this was weekend supposed to add insulation under house...guess not now. I am worried about black widows and snakes in the crawl space ( skins under there now ) and with this rain...I fear they will head there for cover!
Oh yes and its flooded at the water front. Almost over the road and about 15 houses have yards full of water. 5 n 1/2 inches in 2 days and more to come plus wind is pushing water from the sound inward.
Not to mention the September perigee tides. No rain here yesterday and today but we had over 3" of rain on Thursday. The mosquitoes love this watery weather.

It sounds like you got ot worse.
I think the rain releases the eggs to hatch. Before this...those eggs were likely dessicated.
The car was slipping everywhere ...so much water on the road.
