What is this? From RU?

(Joy) Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

I have a different flower in my front shady bed. Earlier this year I noticed a grass like plant, and after it became about 2' tall it developed a long spear with much smaller but otherwise the same flowers. These new flowers are coming straight out of the ground with no other growth, near the original plant.

Would love to know what I am looking at, and who might have given it to me.
Ok, I cannot upload for some reason. Will try again in a bit to get a photo up

Lycoris? Naked ladies?

Here it is.
Much more delicate than lycoris or crinums. Not scrappy leaves, more like a flat clump of grass.
