I moved from MA to FL this year. I live near Orlando now in Zone 9b. I left my home in MA with 7 ft of snow on the lawn and gardens. I couldn't get at any of my hosta to bring them down here. I left over 45 varieties in the ground including Empress Wu of whom I had such high hopes for this year.
Does anyone here garden with hosta in Florida? What types would would work? Which ones should I steer clear of?
Thanks,
Martha
Hostas in Florida
Martha -- was at The Yard Stop in Eustsis the other day and they have Sun Hosta...
[i knew I saw a post about them somewhere, but can't find it... but I snapped a photo.]
They are not totally "impressive" from the hostas we are so used to up north.. but they are hostas.
they guy said they are still susceptible to slugs/snails.
Terese
We got some of these for the Legacy Garden at Mead Botanical Garden. We have them in a shady spot and are waiting to see how they do through the winter and into next spring.
Thanks for the tip.
