Dahlias from Seed

These are a a few of my Hello Gorgeous Dahlias that I grew from seed this year. I never grew this variety before, but love it! I plan on growing them again next year.

I have not grown any dahlias from seed. Those look very nice. What kind of height do they grow to? May have to try growing next year. When did you plant them? Did you start indoors or plant directly in ground?

Hi Gary,
I started the Hello Gorgeous Dahlias from seed on March 25, 2015. They are dwarf dahlias that grow up to 12 inches high. I started them indoors under grow lights. They are easy to grow, I think you would like them.

They sound like a lot of fun, where can I get seeds? (I have discovered I am addicted) and do they bloom in the same year?

Gary, they bloom in the same year. Your start them in March, and they will be blooming by July. Try hps Seed company. That is where I got them from.
