Which finger is that sticking up on 'Chief Four Fingers'?

La Plata, MD(Zone 7a)

Let's not go there. LOL

Just looked a little rude and didn't know if I should be offended ; )

Topguns Helen Jones. It's hard to count the petals on a double, but I'm sure this has more than 3.

I like Poly's, is this a random occurrence?

La Plata, MD(Zone 7a)

Some have been hybridized for that trait and are so registered. It's sort of like the trait of being doubled. The percentage of the trait can vary from about 50% to almost 100%. Then also, almost any cultivar can on rare occasion produce a poly.

That was great information Don, thanks! Hopefully other inquiring minds wanted to know too.

Hey, I've got a Poly...it's a good thing I learned about them here, or it might have gone unnoticed.

That Bela Lugosi and the seedling have very similar dark colors Mike...........gorgeous!!
Love the bright colors in that Open Hearth and Rocket booster as well !!

Thanks for that info as well Don on the polys...... learn something almost every day here on DG!

Robin, Robin, what are we going to do with you ? LOL!

That was genuine appreciation for the learnin'. I'm not always bad Mike.

(Robin) Blissfield, MI(Zone 6a)

Mike, I just learned the terminology 'fused blooms' and your Bela Lugosi + Freewheelin = Hanky Panky Seedling.

What a seedling!

Melvindale, MI(Zone 5a)

Boy Mike, you sure have a lot of poly blooms this summer.

Hazel Crest, IL(Zone 5a)

Cindy I think that a lot of polys are missed because we don't check every bloom more closely.

Melvindale, MI(Zone 5a)

Yes probably true Mike.

Camden, AR(Zone 8a)

That's probably true!! I had one blooming this morning and it was soooo hot I wouldn't even walk over to look at it! Poor thing, probably feels neglected - and might very well think it has been transplanted to H**L :( it is HOT here and the humidity is thru the roof making for almost unbearable conditions. It is days like this that I think I need to move WAYYYY North - but then I think about how cold ya'll get and know I couldn't handle that either!! :)

Otway, OH(Zone 6b)

90 here before the rain came and we had 75% humidity on top of that.

Hazel Crest, IL(Zone 5a)

Kathy, we are cooking here also. We got up to 91°f yesterday at O'Hare Airport which is our official reporting spot for the record. Midway airport which is closer to me recorded 93°f. Got a little rain this morning. "Every little bit helps". LOL!

LIGHTHOUSE WONDERFUL GIFT gave me a poly the other day.
