Eggs on milkweed

Wheaton, IL(Zone 5b)

Found this egg cluster on the underside of the milkweed leaf today while I was looking for Monarch eggs. I know they are not Monarchs. Good or bad? Sorry it's a little blurry. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have never seen purplish butterfly eggs so I did a search for moths. I can't be sure, but it could be a cutworm on your milkweed or another type of moth. Milk weeds are host plants for various types of moths and butterflies, so I guess it will just eat the leaves while it is in the larve stage.

If you don't have any vegtables in your garden and this what it is, you should be ok.

Hope that helps.
