Looking for simple yellow curry sauce recipe

Anyone have such a recipe to share? I like Thai curry sauce w/ lentils and brown rice but the Trader Joe jar (13 miles east of here) is a bit too sweet and the Kikkoman brand I p/u @ $4 for a small bottle was horrible. The Kikkoman tasted like a bitter harsh mustard . . nothing Thai curry- ish about it to me. I will make it from scratch if I can find an easy simple recipe.
