Anyone have any idea what this is? I don't know if it is from wildlife or not, but I thought it might be. It just appeared one day in late February on the ground. The area is in Willis, Texas, just north of Houston. It is a heavily wooded area with mostly pine trees.
If it would be better to post in some other forum, please let me know and I will put a link there.
Thanks,
Patti
What is this Yellow, crystalline "stuff" ?
I could be off and probably am, but could that be tree sap or a resin?
Well, that is certainly a better idea than any I have come up with. I wonder why it was in a little pile though? Maybe a "slab" of resin was at the base of a tree and some animal carried it off and broke it up into little pieces? Or maybe the rain carried it to where it is? I don't know.
Thanks for your thoughts, Chilly!
Patti
Chilly,
I did a search on "Pine Resin chunks" and in the images I saw some almost exactly like mine. That must be what it is! Very useful "stuff". Thanks much for steering me in the right direction.
Patti
You're very welcome. I am glad you figured it out. :)
