Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica)

About the summer this photo was taken, we had to take a break from hanging laundry while they were nesting. They often used this as their resting space when they were off-duty with the eggs and young. Placing a shepherd's hook in the front yard gave them a new place the following year.
Until we had these Porch Swallows, we never saw this species in any tree, but it's a place for the young to perch when they leave the nest. :)
