Should spent flowers from flowering shrubs like Indian hawthorns be removed?

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I'm not used to having any shrubs that actually flower, even when they are supposed to, other than roses and azaleas.
Good opportunity to learn something about your plants - watching the natural transition from the flowering period of the reproductive parts of plants to the fruiting period. It can be pretty fascinating.
