Simple question .. I want to 'split' my ever growing crop of DayLillies .. I am in Zone3a, Northern Canada.
Can I do the deed now, in 'spring' ..

The best time to divide daylilies is Spring or Fall. It's easiest when the you can see them sprouting and before the leaves get fully developed.
I would dig the new hole/s first then, dig your daylily. Also, I would put some horse manure or some such in your hole and mix it with your soil. If the leaves are developed, you can cut the leaves back to 12 inches. Mulch around the plants and water.
