Bartzella

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

Finally, after either 4 or 5 years, my Bartzella bloomed. The foliage has been lush, but no blooms. I decided this year that if it didn't bloom, I was going to try to raise it since I must have planted it too deep. I actually found this one at Lowe's for $15 or $16 when they were going for over $100 on various mail order sites. Wish I'd bought 2 as I considered doing at the time.

I'm no photographer. Took these pics this morning with my phone.

That was some deal!
I was just out looking at my Bartzella- lots of buds and lovely foliage.
Your photos came out well- even with a nice camera the yellow is hard to capture.

Here is mine-I did buy two and I am so glad. It is a trouble free plant-no watering or staking. The foliage really is lush all summer, never looks "all done in" the way some herbaceous peonies do after flowering. Mine was in bud and survived a terrific hailstorm we had, no damage at all. This year the blooms are extra big. The color varies a bit year to year-some years there is more red in the center than now.

I'm not big on yellows, but those are both beautiful.
