First Ruby Throat of the Season

Saw my first hummer this afternoon at the feeder.

I had one at my Pinnate Lavender, and again at the bottlebrush, and my Wiegela, (pictured) which is Varigated, and blooming beautifully, with a soft pink flower that is fragrant.

Hi Elijablue ~ Wow...Congratulations! That's amazing...you got a very, very early hummer! The migration map doesn't even show them up here yet...very exciting.

Congrats to you as well, happytail! You're much further south so you'll probably continue to see more.

I probably won't see any till sometime in early to mid-May.

Yes, I did get a very, very early hummer. I always put the feeders out early, just in case, but have never seen one this early. Just happen to spot him, and he hung around long enough for a photo shoot! He's still around today, so now I'll watch for the "girls" to get here!
