Audio Books for Kindle Fire

Can anyone tell me how to access audio books for a Kindle Fire. I do not have one myself but a neighbor asked my advice because her husband is losing his sight. Right now he reads books by enlarging the print on his K Fire but the time is coming when he won't be able to see anything. The wife wants to be proactive and know what to do when that time comes. Is there an audio setting on the device or do they need to order the books in an audio format?
