Now that the bright weather has kicked in, my hibiscus is really starting to put on growth. But it's indoors, which means it's pretty warm in here, and not nearly as light it's going to experience when it finally gets to go outside. I did cut it back during the winter, mostly just to keep it a manageable size. The new shoots look a little spindly to me, a little too soft. My instinct is to pinch it back and force it to branch out a bit more. Good idea? Or not, on account of delaying bloom? Or is blooming determined by other factors, such as day length and temperature, so it'll set flowers when conditions are right, no matter what I do now? (I.e., pinching is a good idea!)
Thanks, experienced hibiscus people --
Joan
