It was a beautiful day in Atlanta. Spotted a couple of cabbage whites and a fleeting glimpse of an orange butterfly too far away to id. I think I'll put the hummingbird feeders up.
Spring butterflies and hummers
Exciting.. I can't wait to get our hummers back, way to early yet
They have been spotted not far from us and I do think I saw one go blitzing by yesterday!
I had a tiny hummingbird yesterday, and then we got to 40 last night. I hope he found a warm spot for the night. My bottlebrush is about to explode, and that is where he was hanging out.
The cold snap this weekend was a pain. I did see my first eastern tiger swallowtail high above. Still no hummers but my coral honeysuckle is almost ready to bloom and I think they will like that.
Yep, he was back at the bottlebrush this evening, and maybe even the crossvine.
Saw my first hummer this evening! Feeling happy ...
Two more buzzed by me this morning!
Saw a male Rubythroat at my nectar feeder! Yes! Hope it will hang around. This is my second sighting. The first one I wasn't sure it was a female or male. My coral honeysuckles flowers are coming out now, just in time for these little jewels.
Hah, I just picked a random photo. No pix of the hummingbird yet.
Memays, nice! Hope to see more of those flying jewels again soon.
No Hummers yet ,, Seeing Skippers of various , and darker BF yesterday ,, Mourning cloak ?, Red admiral? ,, smaller in size and I did not get a real good look at it ,,, Crazy fly in quick circles
Nice to see some returning though ,, !
J, sorry you haven't seen hummingbirds, however, your butterflies sighting sound very nice. In my garden down here. I think some hummers decided to hang around. Yes!!! I heard them buzzing around, but finally I caught a picture (or two) of the beauty. :)
I also saw some Silver skippers, lots of Sulphurs, some Tiger Swallowtails, dark and yellow tigers. :)
Seeing more and more butterflies now. Soon will be dragonflies as well.
So excited to hand feed hummingbirds!

Cool! memays excellent job! Thanks for sharing that with me and others.
What fun!
Happy Birthday!
I'm starting to see lots of Eastern Swallowtails now. I have a Glossy Abelia right outside one of my front windows and the Swallowtails flock to it. Very enjoyable to observe them.
Happy to hear. Pictures please.
I'll try to get a photo soon.
Woohooo. I found 5 more 1st BST instars on my fennel this morning plus an egg! That would make a total of 14 if the egg hatch.
Sounds Great ,Lily_Love . Only eggs I get this season are the ones you call Breakfast !!!
Add 2 additional 1st and 2nd instars BST to the butterfly house today. Yay!
Lily ,, Alright!!! ,, YAY!!!
It's such a good feeling to see these little ones grow in size.
I keep finding more BST cats.! Those I kept appear to grow and grow.
